A favorite spot among Dentonites is the Denton County Courthouse lawn, where locals and visitors alike stop to picnic, people watch, play music, or even catch Pokémon. Downtown, more commonly known as “The Square,” has many shops and restaurants to explore. Denton is also known for its live music scene, from dozens of open mic dives to the Denton Arts & Jazz Festival and Oaktopia.
